ordered 24 SFG-500 S gasifiers, and their commissioning was expected late 2016
(Morehead, 2014).
• Yinchuan CTL Plant: In the Yinchuan CTL Plant, 44,000 tons/day of coal is ex-
pected to produce around 100,000 bbl/d of liquid fuels (NETL, 2016).
7.2.1.1.4 General Electric Energy Co.
The General Electric (GE) gasifier, formerly known as Chevron, Texaco and/or Tex-
aco gasifier, has a proven experience for more than 45 years gasifying a wide range of
feedstocks. GE gasification technology consists of a single-stage, downward-feed,
entrained flow, refractory-lined reactor. Detailed information about the technology
is to be found in the report “Coal gasification in China” by US-China Energy Center
and National Research Centre for Coal and Energy (2014).
During the last years, GE Energy participated in six out eight mega coal-to-olefin
projects in China: Shihlien Chemicals, Sinopec Ningxia, Sinopec Maoming, Sinopec
NCIC, ChinaCoal Yulin I, and Pucheng Clean Energy. Moreover, GE Energy has over
more than 30 gasification facilities in China, meanwhile some other are still in phase of
design and construction (Dong, 2014).

7.2.1.1.5 Synthesis Energy Systems Inc. (U-Gas )
Synthesis Energy Systems Inc. (SES) is another relevant supplier for coal gasification
technology in China. SES Gasification Technology (SGT) is originally based on the U-
®
Gas gasification technology, a single-stage fluidized bed gasifier developed by the
Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and whose worldwide license is exclusive of SES.
The gasifier operates at temperatures from 850 Ce1000 C, while the range of the
