ary migration, they must have taken place during the last stages before or
during accumulation. The anomaly is also a geological one.
Geochemical analyses suggest a Jurassic source in the Dogger and Lias, not
the Kimmeridge Clay; and the shallower possibilites are eliminated because
“lower Tertiary and Cretaceous source rocks of the Frigg area show only a
low degree of diagenesis” (Hkritier et al., 1979, p. 2019; 1980, p. 78).
