                                  How do you best take in information? Using your eyes, your ears

                                  ❑ Do you prefer reading than being read to, often snatching instructions from other
                                     people?
                                  ❑ Are you the kind of person who always remembers a face?
                                  ❑ Do you use maps rather than relying on verbal instructions?
                                  ❑ Do you take care to coordinate your appearance?
                                  ❑ Are you the first to get up and go to the flipchart and represent a problem as a
                                                    TEAMFLY
                                     diagram?
                                  If you have answered yes to most of these questions, then you prob-
                                  ably rely on your eyes most.

                                  ❑ Do you find yourself repeating the words being used by a presenter or nodding
                                     vigorously when someone is speaking to you?
                                  ❑ Perhaps you even stare into space and appear to be in a daydream, while you listen
                                     to your thoughts in your head?
                                  ❑ Do you like listening to music and to the radio?
                                  ❑ Are you the kind of person who always remembers a name?
                                  ❑ Are you happy to rely on verbal instructions?
                                  ❑ Do you tell jokes and enjoy a good debate when solving problems?
                                  ❑ Do you enjoy using the telephone?

                                  If you have answered yes to most of these questions, then you prob-
                                  ably rely on your ears most.

                                  ❑ Do you sometimes slump into your chair during meetings, frustrated that you can-
                                     not get up and walk around?
                                  ❑ Do you enjoy playing with your pen, with a rubber, with your personal organizer, or
                                     with your papers while someone is talking to you?
                                  ❑ Do you like outdoor pursuits?
                                  ❑ Do you tend to remember what happened rather than someone’s name or even face?
                                  ❑ Are you expressive with your body?
                                  ❑ Are you the kind of person who wants to roll up your sleeves and do it rather
                                     than talking about it?
                                  ❑ Do you enjoy doing business while undertaking an activity at the same time?
                                  If you have answered yes to most of these questions, then you prob-
                                  ably rely on your body most.
                                        Most people prefer one of these ways of taking in informa-
                                  tion. Some people, especially those who have consciously worked to
                                  develop  different  styles,  may  feel  comfortable  in  two  or  three  of
                                  them. In a typical group of people, about a third will naturally pre-
