: KIM’S STORY: “LIE DOWN UNTIL IT PASSES”
Kim really hates to exercise.
She hates everything about it—the time, the sweat, the pain.
Consequently, she doesn’t work out much. In fact, Kim has a catchy
one-liner ready when it comes to discussing the topic with family or
friends: “Every time I get the feeling to exercise, I lie down until it passes.”
In her heart of hearts, Kim knew she should be working out more
often. She had a closet full of clothes that didn’t fit. She found her-
self getting easily fatigued, even on short walks with her dogs in the
park. Then Kim faced some difficult news—her blood pressure was
up, and her triglycerides were elevated. Kim knew her days of double
cheeseburgers and chili dogs as a basic food group in the company
lunchroom were limited.
