Figure 3-49 shows an exploded view of typical cup-type packing with
the various parts in proper order and each part named to highlight both
functions and terms used.

Figure 3-50 shows various styles of rings in common use and illus-
trates proper assembly and position with respect to the pressure side.
It is strongly recommended that new packing rings and springs be
installed when required, and reconditioned packing cases be used.
