Look at the other nuts to see what size they are. Stud bolts should be
replaced when their threads become worn, corroded, or split because the
holding ability of the nut-bolt connection is reduced. Be certain that the
new stud is long enough to engage all of the nut threads.

Compressor fires are always difficult to analyze when the compressor
is in proper operating condition and cylinder jackets and coolers are
clean, particularly on the water side.
