            significant of the fact that all research is always transitional. This book
            should be seen to be at the beginning, not near the end, of the debate on
            relations between religion and media.
              In the next chapter, we will move to a consideration of the issues of the
            contemporary media and religious contexts in more detail. It is important
            to understand how the evolution of these domains is creating the condi-
            tions under which meaning-making – around “religion” and around social
            meaning in general – is taking place.
