             BUSINESS COOPERATION BETWEEN THE UAE AND
             POLAND
             Legal and treaty foundations of the cooperation between the UAE and Poland

             arise from the following bilateral agreements :
             1. Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Poland and the UAE of
                1993.
             2. Agreement Between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the
                Government of the Republic of Poland for the Promotion and Protection of
                Investments, 1993r. 81
             3. Civil Aviation Agreement of 1994.
                The above-mentioned agreements, along with the liberalization of the
             regulations concerning foreign investments in Poland, create favorable con-
             ditions for capital cooperation and capital influx from the UAE to Poland. In
             1994, the Polish party submitted a draft trade agreement to the UAE; however,
             its negotiation was unnecessary because both Poland and the UAE are

             81. (1) Desiring to create favorable conditions for greater economic cooperation between and
                particularly for investments by investors of one Contracting State in the territory of the other
                Contracting State. (2) Recognizing that the encouragement and reciprocal protection under
                international agreements of such investments will be conductive to the stimulation of business
                initiative and will increase prosperity in both Contracting States.
