Pacha Mama is found in Guanacaste, just North of Nosara. It is considered a
spiritual ecocommunity for inner transformation. There are programs for
meditation, emotional healing, physical rejuvenation, ancestral wisdom,
biodiversity and sustainability, as well as musical journeys. It is a nonprofit
center for international gatherings. This spiritual eco-community is spread over
an area of 500 acres; whole families live there and there is a school for children.
Northeastern Areas
Siquirres is a town east of San Jose and close to Limon. This is of importance
because it leads to other parks and reserves such as Tortuguero National Park
to the north by boat. This whole region is dotted with ecological farms.
The city of Turrialba is on the way to Siquirres, and Limon is a beautiful
countryside town with many ecofarms. There is an abundance of cattle
ranches, milk processing plants, and acres of land for growing arabica coffee,
sugarcane, and deliciously large Macadamia nuts. A very unique feature of the
town is that it manufactures Rawlings baseballs used in major league games.
