radio frequency range is the waveband that encompasses the frequencies employed in NMR
spectroscopy i.e. 60,100, 300 and 1000 MHz.
A diagram showing the distribution of the different wave bands of interest is shown in Figure 2.1. It is
seen that the spectrum has been divided into a number of different regions. The gray region occurs
below 0.5 Å and the X-ray region extends between 0.5 Å and 50 Å. The regions of interest, and
pertinent to the use of tandem techniques, is part of the UV region between about 150 nm and 400 nm,
the visible region between 400 nm and 700 nm and the infrared region between about 2.5 m and 25 m.
