specialty companies that cater to trainers and presenters (see Creative Training Products
in the Resources for Trainers section in the appendices).
As with the toys and erasers discussed earlier, stickers can tie into a variety of themes
or topics. For that reason, trainers in just about any industry can find something to
enhance their sessions.
Just as with the erasers and toys earlier, you’ll need enough of various colors and shapes
to select participants into equal groups. To do this, simply put a sticker in the corner of
each person’s name tent or nametag, as you did with the markers, before they arrive. The
following are a few ideas for specific types of stickers that can relate to an industry/topic:
Animals: any topic or industry
Cars and trucks classes for the automotive industry
Computers: PC/technical skills training
Clock faces: time management
Clown faces: humor training
Eyes: optical industry classes
Food shapes: restaurant/food services training
Mouths and lips: nonverbal/verbal communication skills
Seasonal: can be used for any type of training based on a special day (e.g., St. Patrick’s Day,
Halloween, New Year’s)
Safety signs: OSHA or workplace safety training
Smile faces: any industry or class
Stars: any type program
Teeth and mouths: dental classes
Traffic signs: transportation/safety training
PUTTING YOUR BRAIN TO WORK: ACTIVITY
Think of the types of programs that you do. List them here, then imagine and list a type of sticker that could
tie into the topic. Next, go on a shopping trip to locate them for future use.
Paper Products

Keep in mind that your goal is to have an equal number of people in each group. What-
ever method you use should include a variety of colors or shapes. Here are a few ideas
that might help.
