When you have more and larger forces on the
negative side of your Creative ForceField you are less
                                        highly realized creatively.

about certain forces that are simply a part of your reality. I recommend
that you do this exercise before you get too far along in this book, and
also at the end to gauge your immediate progress. Periodically after
you have put to work some of the concepts and tools covered in this
book, come back and gauge your Creative ForceField again.

A Short Lesson on the Creative ForceField
Basically, we all have forces in our lives—at home, on the job, and
elsewhere—that help us achieve creativeness as well as forces working
against our creativity. The larger the number of positive forces you
have and the greater the strength of those forces in relation to the neg-
ative forces, the more highly realized you can become creatively. Con-
versely, the larger the number negative forces you have and the greater
the strength of those forces in relation to your positive forces, the more
                   stifled you are creatively.
The same goes for your company, department, or work group, your
family unit, your Thursday night jam session, and so on.
The objectives are quite simple. First, identify the forces working for
and against your creativeness. Once those forces have been identified,
use the insights and recommendations in this book to increase the posi-
tive forces or add additional positive forces. And, perhaps more impor-
tant, use this book to help you work at diminishing the negative forces on
the other side of the energy field.
The result? More healthy conditions for creativity to flourish.
