It is no accident that you picked up this book. At some point,
you must have asked yourself, “What can I learn from a
company like Starbucks?” You took the time to explore the
principles that made the company such a success. Starbucks
reflects an empowering and entrepreneurial work culture,
fosters consistent customer loyalty, amply rewards faithful
shareholders, and offers an opportunity to make a difference
in the world.
You probably have already begun to think about ways in
which you can extract ideas from this book and apply them
to your own business or life experience. You may even have
thought about how you can gain buy-in from other leaders
in your organization so that the members of your staff truly
“make your business their own.” You might have thought
about instilling corporate guidelines that give your people an
image of what it would look like to be, not just do, the things
that matter most to your business.
