your project compiles successfully, you will see a dialog box that tells you the
size of your program. NS Basic compiles your program into a Palm PRC file
and stores it into the \Download directory of the NS Basic installation.
Afew steps previously, we set NS Basic to create a skinny application. With
a skinny application, the PRC file that is created cannot be run on its own. It
needs the NS Basic runtime to be on the PDAto be able to execute. Afat appli-
cation, on the other hand, is a stand-alone PRC that contains all the NS Basic
runtime code as part of the PRC. To run your skinny application, you need to
download or hot sync the NS Basic runtime and other libraries to the POSE or
your PDA. That can be done in the Run menu.
Loading NS Basic Programs to a Palm OS PDA
Select Run | Hotsync NS Basic Runtime from the menu. This will add the
runtime to the hot sync list for your PDA. If you have multiple user names on
your system, you will need to select the correct PDAuser name for hot syncing.
This only needs to be done once, regardless of how many NS Basic programs
you hot sync to the PDA. Similarly, add the Hello World application to the hot
sync list. The next time you hot sync the PDA, the two applications will be
