the PDAs themselves; a lot of the listings were for accessories such as cables,
keyboards, cases, and other gadgets. But a lot of those hits were PDAs, and
that means you can get them at good prices.
Other Online Sources
There are many other online sources for PDAs. You can perform a search for
PDA resellers, but a better option is to surf news and message boards dedi-
cated to PDAs. Try these:
The folks at any of those sites can probably suggest good places to get used
PDAs.
Stuff to Come
By now you’re probably ready to move on to the real stuff—like how to build
your robot, how to program your robot, how to do cool stuff with your robot,
and how to conquer the universe with your robot.
We can’t help with that last one, and frankly we don’t think you’ll get very
far. People who try to conquer the universe with robots are usually stopped by
Dr. Who, occasionally by Jim Kirk, and sometimes by the Interstellar Alliance
created by the former commander of Babylon 5.
We can help with the first three.
In Chapters 2 through 4, we’ll look at all the hardware you need to build the
Palm Robot. As we’ve mentioned, Acroname sells some kits that have every-
thing you need to build the robot. If you’re a hard-core hobbyist, you may
want to do it more from scratch. We’ll show you the parts you need and tell
you some places where you can get the parts.
