But globalization is not a one-way process. It is not a process that is
firmly in the economic and cultural grip of the West. The emergence
of the highly competitive and advanced economies of South East
Asia owes a great deal to globalization. Non-Western cultures are
also having a reverse impact (although not on the same scale) on
the West.
The emergence of Indian music on the global scale, for example, is
chanqinq musical tastes in the West.
