Globalization may itself be undermined by the emergence of the
Asian civilizations. This is the argument of The Asian Renaissance
(1996) by the Malaysian politician and intellectual, Anwar Ibrahim.
That is, a more harmonious and enriching experience of living
together among people of diverse religions and cultures.
Global futures are thus more radically open than the process of
globalization suggests.
