shis Nandy

Ashis Nandy (b. 1937), psychologist and cultural critic, can be
described as the father of South Asian cultural studies. His main
concern is to make cultural studies a totally indigenous enterprise
based on the Subcontinent's unique categories of knowing and
being. Nandy categorically locates himself with the victims of history
and the casualties of an array of grand Western ideas, such as
Science, Rationality, Development and the Nation State.

Nandy seeks both to unite the victims and to increase the
              awareness of their victimhood.
