            5.9.3.2 Eccentric Braces
            Similar to the concentric braces, adding eccentric braces to the existing build-
            ings leads to architectural concerns. One of the advantages of this method over
            concentric braces is the ability to control the failure mode from the braces to the
            link beam. The design of this beam can be done with the aim of flexural or shear
            failure preceding the failure in braces. The ductile failure of the link beam can
            provide large energy dissipation capacity compared with buckling of the
