      11.1.4 Aircraft:airport compatibility
      A prime issue in the design of a new airport, or
      the upgrading of an existing one, is
      aircraft:airport compatibility. Aircraft and
      airport design both have long lead times, which
      means that new airports have to be designed to
      meet the constraints of existing and planned
      aircraft designs, and vice versa. These
      constraints extend across the various elements
      of airport design, i.e. runway length, width and
