18.4. -The next step is to eliminate the small hole from the "Forge" configuration.

Since suppressing "Cut-Extrude1" would also eliminate the center hole because

both holes were made using the same sketch and feature, we'll use a different

option.

If not already visible, right-mouse-click in a CommandManager's tab to

activate the "Direct Editing" tab and select the "Delete Face" command, or from

the menu "Insert, Face, Delete." Deleting a face from a solid model allows us to

directly manipulate the solid body without modifying existing features, and the

"Delete Face" command is itself a feature which can be suppressed.

Select the inside face of the small hole as indicated with the "Delete and

Patch" option. The "Delete Face" command will remove the hole's cylindrical face

from the model, and the "Delete and Patch" option will close the openings left

behind by extending the flat faces on both sides of the part to close the round holes

and form a continuous surface to maintain a solid body. Click OK to finish.
