Corrosion costs in the well-known old sector, namely, farming in the United
Kingdom amount to 1.6% of the investment as evidenced by the data given in
Table 2.11.
Although farming is a capital intensive activity and one of the largest and essential
sectors of industry, very little attention has been paid toward corrosion and its control.
