The drain should have a large enough area to handle the maximum runoff
anticipated. Rainwater runoff from a bridge should be led a specially designed
and built, or existing, sewerage system. Where a new sewerage system is being
designed, the bridge must be considered as an additional water load source that
must be included in the system load calculations.
