assembly cost, quality control, etc. Most reciprocating compressors are pack-
aged by third party companies (not the OEMs). Therefore, each package can
be a unique configuration and combination of components.
Centrifugal compressors and their drivers are also typically skid mounted.
However, most of the centrifugal compressor manufacturers will package the
compressors themselves to ensure maximum compatibility of all components.
