14.7.2 Ceramics and Glass
Ceramics may also be used in much the same way as hydraulic
cements, but they are usually applied to confer resistance to heat or
attack by hot, high-velocity gases. Thus, they are used in exhaust
passages emitting hot gases such as rocket nozzles, furnace linings,
and other similar applications [5].
