Draw, using first of third angle projection, the following views:
• a sectional elevation with the parts assembled;
• an end view, which should be an outside view only with no hidden detail included.
A solution in first angle is given in Fig. 10.27. A third angle solution would just involve
exchanging the positions of the two views. The object of drawing a sectional view is to
illustrate as much detail as possible regarding the construction of a product and how the
separate parts are fixed together. If most aspects of the separate parts are displayed, then
the use of hidden linework in another view probably does not increase understanding,
and its use should be limited. The outside view here provides information regarding
width.
