We can always add to the list but basically four linetypes will suffice at this stage, namely
'center', 'construction', 'hidden' and 'object' and each will have a distinctive colour. We
do not use the default layer zero, so in the blank name input box at the bottom type the
words center, construction, hidden, object and click on New.
The layer names will appear in the sequence above but all colours will be quoted as
'white' and all lines 'continuous'. These need to be edited. Click on the layer names in
turn, then Set Color and Set Ltype and edit the details as indicated on Fig. 1.23.
Avariety of broken lines are provided by the software and also a BREAI( command which
permits you to insert your own breaks conveniently in ordinary continuous lines if the
proportions of the given lines do not suit your style. The option is also available to set up
your own selection. Similarly, chain lines are required for hidden details and a standard
selection is supplied. I choose my lines to give a 3mm line followed by a 2 mm space.
Again, you can design your own if you wish.
