218 Part IV: Managing and Securing Data
11. Click the ProductName field in the Columns in Your Query and then select the
Preview Now button to sample the data entered in that field in the Preview Data
in Selected Column list box.
The Preview Now button enables you to preview the data in any field that you
add to the Columns in Your Query list box. If you discover that you’ve selected
a field whose data you don’t need, you can move the field back to the Available
Tables and Columns list box by clicking the < button (click the << button to move
all the fields you added to the Columns in Your Query list box back).
The order in which the fields appear in the Columns in Your Query list box determines
the order in which they appear in the worksheet. You can use the triangle buttons
on the right side of this list box to promote and demote the fields in the Columns in
Your Query list. The triangle button pointing upward promotes the selected field by
moving it up one in the list, whereas the triangle button pointing downward demotes
the field by moving it down one in the list.

12. Select the Next button to open the Query Wizard – Filter Data dialog box to open the
Query Wizard – Filter Data dialog box.
The Query Wizard – Filter Data dialog box enables you to set up any filtering criteria
that specifies which records are to be extracted from the designated fields during the
data query to the external database. In this case, you want to include records only
where the Unit Price of the item is greater than or equal to $7.45.
13. Click the UnitPrice field in Column to Filter list box and then select Is Greater Than or
Equal To in first drop-down list box under Unit Price in the Only Include Rows Where
section and type 7.45 in the associated combo box to its immediate right.
The filter criteria for the UnitPrice field in your Query Wizard — Filter Data dialog box
should now match the one shown in Figure 16-4.
14. Select the Next button to open the Query Wizard — Sort Order dialog box.
The Sort Order dialog box enables you to specify the order in which you want the
records extracted from the tables in the external database to be sorted in the Excel
worksheet. In this case, you want the records in the worksheet to be sorted alphabeti-
cally by product name.
