3.32 DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES

temporary floors, bolting, and fitting of structural members. Provisions for material han-
dling and work over water are also given.
A10.15-1995 Dredging. The standard applies to “operations, inspections, and mainte-
nance of any vessel fitted with machinery for the purpose of removing or relocating mate-
rials from or in a body of water.” It deals with general requirements for floating plant and
           marine equipment.

A10.16-2001 Tunnels, Shafts, and Caissons. The standard deals with the safety require-
ments in regard to the construction of tunnels, shafts, and caissons. It deals with environ-
mental control, related facilities, fire prevention, hoisting, haulage and electrical, drilling
           and blasting, and compressed-air works.

A10.17-2006 Safe Operating Procedures for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Construction.
The standard provides operational safety and health guidelines to workers engaged in pave-
ment construction, resurfacing, and general maintenance.

A10.18-2007 Safety Requirements for Temporary Roof and Floor Holes, Wall Opening,
Stairways, and Other Unprotected Edges. The standard deals with the hazards arising
out of or associated with temporary floors, wall openings, flat roofs, stairs, railings, and toe-
           boards.

           A10.19-2008 Pile Installation and Extraction

A10.20-2006 Safe Operating Practices for Tile, Terrazzo, and Marble Work. This stan-
dard deals with the safety requirements during handling and installing of ceramic tiles, ter-
           razzo, and marble.

A10.21 Safe Construction and Demolition of Wind Generation/Turbine Facilities.
           (Under development)
           A10.22-2007 Rope-Guided and Non-Guided Workmen’s Hoists. The standard deals
with the safety requirements for the transportation of workers to and from working eleva-
tions during construction and demolition; and it is applicable to work in chimneys, chim-
ney linings, silos, towers, stacks, shafts, etc. It is also applicable when hoisting or lowering
a person in a boatswain’s chair. The standard applies to transportation of materials non-
           concurrently with personnel.
           A10.24-2006 Roofing—Safety Requirements for Low-Sloped Roofs

           A10.25-2009 Sanitation in Construction
A10.26 Emergency Procedures for Construction Sites. (Under development)

           A10.27-2005 Hot Mix Asphalt Facilities

A10.28-2004 Work Platforms Suspended from Cranes or Derricks. The standard pro-
vides safety requirements for “platforms suspended from lifting cranes or derricks in order
to (1) perform work at elevations that cannot normally be reached by other types of scaf-
folds or aerial work platforms or (2) transport personnel to elevations where other means
of access are unsafe or impractical because of design or worksite conditions.”
