9.27 WATERPROOFING
The adhesion promoters for plastisols used for waterproofing comprise polyaminoamide
1
(e.g., Euretek 563) and propylene glycol monophenyl ether (phenoxypropanol). The
adhesion promoter is added at the level of 1 wt% of total weight of plastisol (components
1
of the adhesion promoter are used in 1:1 proportion).
The waterproofing composition based on polyurethanes is particularly useful for the
2
waterproofing of concrete structures. Hydroxy fatty acids are very good adhesion pro-
2
moters for concrete surfaces.
A liquid epoxy-based primer composition comprises an adhesion promoter of the
3
3
silane type. Epoxysilane was found to be the most useful.
