imagery), a collection of data from a scale (scale or three-
dimensional imagery), or a multiple acquisition of the very
same tomographic image. Image formats are standardized way
of storing digital images. Image formats store data in two basic
types: uncompressed/raw (which typically uses more storage
space) and compressed formats (which use various algorithms
[lossy or lossless] to significantly compress the data to be stored
