Contributors’ Biographies





             Terence Bergin
             Terence Bergin is a Barrister at the Chambers of Roger Henderson QC, 2 Harcourt Buildings, Temple.
             He specializes in computer-, e-commerce- and Internet-related litigation, and has a niche practice in
             entertainment law. Terence was junior counsel in the case of Anglo Group plc v Winther Browne.


             Marietta Cauchi
             Marietta Cauchi is a journalist with Dow Jones Newswires, having previously practised as a media
             lawyer in London for several years. Her expertise covers all media-related topics, including
             defamation, intellectual property and human rights issues, and the implication of the Internet in these
             areas. Marietta has written and spoken on these topics both in Europe and the United States of
             America.

             Jane Colston
             Jane Colston is a Senior  Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department of law firm Baker &
             McKenzie. Jane qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 and is a member of the firm’s international media law
             group.

             Mark Cranwell
             Mark Cranwell is a Senior Associate with international law firm Coudert Brothers. He is a member
             of the firm’s worldwide  Telecommunications Media and  Technology Group and specializes in
             domestic and international commercial transactions in the telecommunications and technologies
             fields, with a focus on digital media. Mark is dual qualified in England and Wales and the Province
             of Alberta, Canada.

             Charles de Fleurieu
             Charles de Fleurieu is an Associate with international law firm Coudert Brothers. He is a member of
             the firm’s corporate and Telecommunications Media and Technology Groups, where he works on
             domestic and international transactions and other corporate and regulatory matters. Charles received
             his LLB from King’s College, London and his Maitrise in French law from the Sorbonne University
             in Paris in 1996. He is qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

             Simon Dowson-Collins
             Simon Dowson-Collins was called to the Bar in 1989. He worked at media law specialists Wright
             Webb Syrett and was made a Partner in 1993 after transferring to the solicitors’ branch of the
             profession. Wright Webb Syrett merged with Davenport Lyons in 1995.

             In 1996, Simon joined the BBC legal department where he specializes in all areas of media law, with
             an emphasis on defamation and contempt. Simon is Director of Legal Services at HarperCollins
             Publishers.
