Exercise 3. What are the similarities and differences between a YAWL Custom
                           Service and a Web Service?
Exercise 4. YAWL Custom Services can be implemented to handle work announced
by the engine in a wide variety of ways. Think of an idea for a YAWL Custom
Service. What function would it have? What interface(s) would it use?

                           Chapter Notes

The initial release of the YAWL environment was a prototype version released late
in 2003. The first full open-source release was the “beta2” version, released in July
2004. Since then, there have been around two dozen full releases of the environment
                           to date.
The seminal paper on Representational State Transfer (REST) style network-
based software architecture, on which the service-oriented architecture of YAWL is
based, can be found in [94], while a good resource for more information on SOAP
and WSDL is provided by Curbera et al. [68].
The work item visualizer service referred to in Sect. 7.2 is detailed in de Leoni
                           et al. [148].
