are lower, from 27% (ADP_FF) to 5% (EP and AP). GWP is lower at 14%, which
is a significant decrease.
10.5.4 CO 2 uptake
Landfilling of concrete waste was considered as disposal scenario in all case stud-
ies. Since all analysed concrete mixes were made with CEM I cement, the total
CO 2 uptake during the whole life cycle can be calculated according to [Eq. (10.6)].
However, RAC mixes contain an extra amount of cement paste in addition to that
which comes with new cement originating from RCA.
The content of adhered cement mortar in RCA depends on the parent concrete
quality, crushing procedure and particle size. De Juan and Gutie ´rrez (2009) tested
