Acknowledgments
A book on PVT cannot be written without extensive referencing to the
experts who advanced this topic with great ideas and wealth of information.
Among the prominent researchers who contributed immensely to this topic, I
must acknowledge Bill McCain, Curtis Whitson, Tarek Ahmed, and Karen
Pedersen. Contributions by Muhammad Al-Marhoun, Abhijit Dandekar, Ali
Danesh, and many others cannot be overlooked. Earlier contributors such as
Donald Katz, Harvey Kenndy, and Marshall Standing shaped the path
towards advancing PVT techniques.
Thanks are also due to the professors at both Cairo University and Texas
A&M University for numerous discussions and valuable insights over the years.
I would also like to acknowledge my graduate students whose enthusiasm kept
me eager to continue learning. Immense appreciation goes to the editorial and
production staff of Elsevier, especially to Kattie Washington, Katie Hammon,
and Vijayaraj Purushothaman.
This book is dedicated to the late Dr. Hamdi El-Banbi whose first technical
contribution was in the field of PVT (El-Banbi, Hamdi A. 1963. An
Investigation of the Pressure Volume Temperature Behavior of Paraffinic
Systems in the Presence of Olefins, Aromatics, and Contaminants. PhD
dissertation, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX.).
