3'.6. Halogenation. The gain of halogen or halide.
3.6.1. Halogen addition (X-X rupture with no hydrogen halide
                        formation)
                        Alkene:
                        CH 2 : CH 2 + Cl 2 = CICH 2CH 2CI

                        Alkyne:
                         C 2 H 2 + Cl 2 = CICH: CHCI

                        C 2H 2 + 2Cl 2 = CHCl 2CHCl 2
3.6.2. Hydrogen halide addition (H-X rupture)
                        Alkene:

                         CH 2 : CH 2 + HCI = CH 3CH 2CI
                        Alkyne:
                        C 2 H 2 + HCI = CH 2 : CHCI

                        Alkyl halide:
                        CH 2 :CHCI + HCI = CH 3CHCl 2
3.6.3. By halogen (X-X rupture with formation of hydrogen halide)
                        Alkane:
                         CH 4 + Cl l = CHCI + HCI
                        CH 4 + 2Cl 2 = CH 2C1 2 + 2HCI
