The numbers in the triangle have applications in other areas of
mathematics such as algebra and graph theory.
It is interesting to note that Pascal included his triangle in a book he wrote
in 1653. It wasn’t printed until 1665. It is not known if Pascal developed
the triangle on his own or heard about it from someone else; however, a
similar version of the triangle was found in a Chinese manuscript written by
Chi Shi-Kie in 1303!
