        In 2004, Quantum Workplace began Best-Places-to-Work studies in
        several U.S. cities. After the inaugural year closed, Quantum con-
        ducted an analysis to identify whether there were any factors that
        seemed to be having a significant impact on retention risk and a desire
        on the part of employees to go the extra mile at work. The initial re-
        search was not as exhaustive as the work that went into the collabora-
