turbine. The shape of this force is determined by the number of nozzles.

11.5 SAFE Diagram for Bladed
Disk Assembly
The SAFE diagram of a 40-blade disk is given in Fig. 11.22. For the
same disk, the effect of shrouding is shown by three different construc-
tions:

1. Completely shrouded (1 packet)
2. Freestanding blades with shrouding (in effect 40 packets)
3. Eight packets
