all solutions to all real problems are found.

• Everything you know that has nothing to do with your busi-
ness is outside the box.

• Intergalactic thinking disengages your rational mind—that
predictable, boring thought maker that tosses around the same
data over and over again.

• Simply going to seemingly unrelated galaxies of thought that
have nothing to do with your home galaxy opens up whole new
realms of creative possibilities.

• Just focus on an unrelated piece of data and find a way to con-
nect it to the problem. Don’t make it a drill in linear thinking.
Don’t rely on logic.

• Don’t resist ideas that seem crazy or stupid. Find the bril-
liance; there’s brilliance in almost anything.
