The Future: Starbucks and Your Own
It is difficult to imagine all the great things that are yet to
come for Starbucks. Howard Schultz keeps suggesting that
the company is in the “early stages of growth,” “the second
inning of a nine-inning game,” and the “beginning chapters
of a long book.” As examples, Starbucks has announced
plans for aggressive growth in China, in-store downloading
of music on customers’ MP3 players, espresso dating in con-

junction with Yahoo! Personals, and the distribution of
movies and books. But whatever its future holds, you can be
assured that Starbucks will be well grounded in the Starbucks
Experience principles that have been outlined herein.
