• Numerous organizations have established tests for making sure that every one of the
nine testing areas are installed according to approved standards.
• Outside testing laboratories usually perform the required tests and then submit the
results to the PM and the owner.
• QC is required so that the standards established by the design documents are
adhered to.
• In order for QC to be effective, the CM/GC and the subcontractor must work as team
so that work as a quality product can be produced.
• A QC checklist has to be prepared prior to the installation of any project component.
The CM/GC’s team must review and check off each item of the QC checklist during
and after installation of the construction components.
• A good QC program will keep defects to a minimum.
