                          After passage through the boiler area, the combustion gases are freed of particulates and
                       acid gases by a number of simple to sophisticated technologies, including electrostatic precipi-
                       tators, baghouses and mist separators (discussed below), and then discharged to the atmosphere
                       via the flue.
