facilitate issue identification and resolution using methods that are

WHEN YOU FEEL DEEPLY DISCOURAGED, USE THIS AS A SIGNAL TO
WORK ON CHANGING YOUR PERSPECTIVE When you feel discour-
aged, this can permeate and demoralize your team. Whenever you
begin to feel disheartened and concerned, intercept these reac-
tions by gathering an ad hoc team of trusted advisors. These peo-
ple can help you gain a different perspective and assist you in
developing innovative ways of addressing the organizational fac-
tors that are triggering your concerns.
BE MORE PLAYFUL Four team leaders can be intense and serious.
While this is not necessarily a negative characteristic, it does need
to be balanced with some lighthearted fun. Find the humor in
adverse circumstances, laugh at the absurdity of situations that you
might normally perceive as negative, and try to balance your seri-
ousness with some levity.
