MANAGE YOUR ENERGY AND STRESS LEVELS When you first realize
that you are overworking yourself, or when you notice that you are
chronically fatigued, stop. Get more rest, eat more healthfully, exer-
cise more, and do something nice for yourself, preferably some-
thing that is not expensive. (As a way of being nice to themselves,
some Twos purchase items that are beyond their budgets, thus cre-
ating more stress.)
DEVELOP A MORE BALANCED APPROACH TO DIFFICULT ISSUES When
faced with extremely complex issues, you may feel more frustrated
and emotional than usual. Examine why this is so—for example, it
may be related to your sense that you are responsible for everyone
and everything or that others are not supporting your efforts
despite your consistent support of their endeavors. Acknowledg-
ing such beliefs can be difficult, but once you do, it can be
extremely freeing.
DEVELOP THE WORK IN SUCH A WAY THAT OTHERS CAN EXECUTE
TASKS WITHOUT YOUR GUIDANCE Without intending to do so, you
may be making other people dependent on you. While this may
make you feel needed and involved, people may begin to feel that
they are unable to perform a task without your involvement. You
can help people most by allowing them to be independent.
