what her best contribution was and always saw it
through. She didn’t do it for me, she did it for the
cause that she believed in—I barely knew her then.
Kristin then expressed to me, “My heart was encouraged
by her honesty and her keen sense of commitment to her
offered help. And, of course, to the warmth and humor that
she always brought along with her intellect and commit-
ment. I was indeed lucky, later in life, to have reason to
spend time with her, and to learn more from her as the
years passed.”
This story from Kristin was just one example of many
that illustrated Hillary’s openness and her intention to be
of value to others. Of course, Hillary developed a host of
new relationships as a result, but, best of all, she encouraged
Kristin’s heart in an effort that made a difference to others,
and, in the process, she created a lasting impression. That’s
what I mean by being connected in order to help others.
