PURPOSE IN LIFE
What do you believe in so strongly that you are willing to
give your discretionary effort to make it happen? Life
presents us with an opportunity to serve and, in return, to
gain a sense of fulfillment like no other. I call this your
purpose in life.
What is your purpose? What could be so important to
you that you would be willing to take on a job where you
must try to stop Iran’s nuclear program, curb Pakistan’s
Islamic insurgency, and help new U.S. forces in Afghanistan
with civilian projects? What could make it okay for you to
go to very dangerous places and address crowds that are
skeptical of everything you have to say? What could keep
you up at night reading briefing after briefing in order to
understand the issues and be prepared to represent your
