• Level C: Interface/Exchange software: This
comprises the common software that will be
used by all the CAD/CAM application, e.g.
user interface, data exchange etc.
• Level D: Geometric modelling programs:
Most of these are designed to generate an
output which can be translated into geomet­
ric form to guide a machine tool.
• Level E: Applications software: This is the
top level of vendor-supplied software and
includes drafting, and analysis/simulation
facilities.
