Some locations where wind turbines are constructed may have unique site condi-
tions that require special structural engineering considerations. Examples of such sites
are offshore locations where the impacts of wave motion should be considered, as well
as floodways, where the effects of soil erosion on the foundation should be taken into
consideration (Fig. 8.4).
