                            CALCIUM ARSENATE

Calcium arsenate is produced by the reaction of calcium chloride, calcium
hydroxide, and sodium arsenate or lime and arsenic acid:
                     2CaCl + Ca(OH) + 2Na HAsO → Ca (AsO ) + 4NaCl + 2H O
                          2 2 2 4 3 4 2 2
Some free lime (CaO) is usually present. Calcium arsenate is used exten-
sively as an insecticide and as a fungicide.
